What I am about to say going to sound racist but it's true.

While the they are not the majority, in reality black folks are in the minority (33%) behind Latinos who represent about 43% of the population.

The key difference is black people vote, wether they engage through their neighborhoods or through church, they vote. Latino, by and large do not, this has nothing to do with legal status (you have to be legal to vote anyway) but THEY DO NOT VOTE in local elections.

Here comes the rough part. When it comes to voting, the black population is ignorant. They vote on identity politics, they don't vote on record, they don't vote on the quality of the individual and they sure don't vote on qualification. Regardless, how flawed the candidate is, they'll vote for them if they see themselves in them. If they're black, they'll do right by me. That's how we'll end up with 10 years of Harvey.

I know McLymore, he's a decent guy, not that smart but I don't think he was the best answer for Newburgh. He's a "pastor" a snake oil salesmen. He works in a predominately white community. If cared about his community that he grew up, he'd be working in Newburgh.

We HAVE to put identity politics aside. Whether it's skin color or political party, we have to vote for the individual(s) that are going to do right by Newburgh and serve to the best of their ability.
