Mexico was this evening crowned the world’s top model in a glittering ceremony that saw an array of stunning international fashions modelled by the Miss World 2004 finalists. Twenty girls had won places in tonight’s fashion show final.


Mexico’s win of the worlds top model means she has immediately secured a place in the Miss World finals, to be held in Sanya on the 4th of December and gained an extra 25 bonus points.

Twenty two year old Yesica Guadalupe Ramirez Meza, comes from Sinaloa in Northern Mexico. She is a student of business administration, whilst also studying to become a teacher. It is her ambition to become an international model and run her own fashion design company.


After much deliberation, the winners were announced in reverse order:

The United Kingdom has its first finalist in Miss World 2004, thanks to Miss Wales’ triumphant display of award-winning athleticism at today’s Best Sports Woman event. By winning one of the five key events in the tournament, Wales is now fast-tracked to the Final on December 4th.




Wales beat of fierce competition from the ten girls competing in today’s final, with Australia coming a close second and Peru and Trinidad and Tobago placing joint third. It was a hard fought battle throughout all three disciplines, with Miss World records being broken in swimming (Australia) and long jump (Wales).

Last November 20, 2004 - Talent Night was held and among the 20 finalist to join for the talent search 3 girls gave their best and declares winners :


China / Antigua & Barbuda / Barbados


Antigua sang her heart out to take the crown in the Talent Contest and be fast-tracked to the Final.


China gave a hypnotic performance of sword-wielding tai chi to clinch second place in the event.


Barbados making it a double for the islands with her original modern dance dramatisation entitled Beauty Comes to Earth, becomes 3rd place.

United States took the coveted laurels, coming out on top from the ten finalists (listed below). With Australia coming second and Trinidad & Tobago third. She commented after the ceremony:

"I am so excited I am just stunned, I work on my body and try to maintain a good physique so this is fantastic. There are so many kinds of beauty and physical appearance here, to win this award is such an honour. The best part though is now I am in the final of Miss World that means my mother can watch me at home. I am going to represent my country in the best way possible in the final.


"I came here to enjoy China and I have had such a wonderful time. I have wanted to visit for so long but I had no idea it would be so beautiful here. Everyone in China has been very welcoming and hospitable and I hope to come back to see more of the country and surrounding area.

"Miss World is such a great experience for a woman. You get to meet all these wonderful girls and if you have something that you really care about you get the chance to do something about it."

The beachwear final marks the start of the public vote and shows the competition for Miss World 2004 is truly underway (see website soon for further voting details) Miss United States will now be fast tracked to the finals.


Although there were ten finalists and only one overall winner, all the girls looked a million dollars in their swimsuits, which made it all the more difficult for the judging panel to make their decision.

As Miss World Beauty Pageant begins, after the arrival of all the participating candidates last Nov. 7. The Miss World Organization hold a Traditional / Promotional Parade for all the candidates. They will moving around the place of Sanya located in Southern part of China. Let's see some of the photos taken during the parade.

Nikallaya grew up in a small city named Amphur Muang, which has just received the UNESCO Award for a "City of Peace". After completing high school she attended Suansunantha University in Bangkok and gained a BA (Hons) in Accounting. In her final year she was very fortunate to be cast in the movie "Lob phee, phee mai lob" a comedy film about ghosts, it was a fun experience. Now she is back in her first year of her Masters of Education at Thornburi College, it is her ambition to eventually manage or own her own school or college. Nikallava feels very lucky in having been given a government grant to study and would like to be able to help others as she has been helped. In high school she was a drum major and lead the school band at special events, she can also juggle five sticks. In her leisure time she enjoys: drawing portraits, reading, singing, boxing and basketball. Her personal motto is "If you don’t set goals you’ll never achieve anything".

Gergana grew up in the capital of Bulgaria - Sofia, this is situated at the foot of the Vitosha Mountain, and is a favourite place for tourists in all seasons. Gergana is currently studying polygraphy and photography and will complete her secondary education in 2005, her ambition is to study journalism at University and eventually become a Television Journalist. Her father is a volley ball coach and her mother has been a rhythmic gymnastic dancer, being brought up in this sphere has helped her enjoy both sport and dance (including rhythmic gymnastics, ballet, Latino, folk and traditional dances), and to win many prizes. Gergana also enjoys: drawing, painting, going to the theatre and cinema. Her personal motto is "To give and not to expect anything in return".

Finally, who said Americans don't know how to vote? Well, at least they picked Nancy Randall to represent the United States at Miss World, a Brazilian-American student of Anthropology who certainly has enough beauty and brains to become Miss World 2004. Canada should not be overlooked as well.

Of course an early assessment is based on photographs, biographies published in the internet, and fans' opinions. That's why they are called "pre-pageant" favorites.

For Sayali Bhagat, winning the Ponds Femina Miss India crown has been the realisation of a childhood dream. "When I was in the seventh standard, I had written an essay in which I had stated that my ambition was to become Miss India," recalls a visibly excited Sayali, who is all set to leave for China where the Miss World 2004 pageant is being held. This contest is being held in the city of Sanya.


Given India’s success rate at beauty pagents, Sayali is confident about making her mark. "I’m hopeful but living up to expectations is tough," she admits. "But it is a responsibility I have been entrusted with, and I will try my best to fulfill it. Opportunity comes once in a lifetime and one must make the best use of it."

Considering that this year’s selection process is different, Sayali feels she stands a good chance. " The top ten will be selected on the basis of popularity," she informs. "Since it’s all about congeniality, my friendly nature should help me. Besides, people can also vote so I would like it if they voted for me.

Besides all her natural charm, she has undergone an extensive grooming session ahead of the beauty pagent. While her speech and stage presence has been worked upon by Sabira Merchant, the man behind her beautiful smile is Dr Sandesh Mayekar who has done the Smile design treatment and Britessmile which includes braces treatment. Her makeup and hair training has been handled by Samantha Kochhar of New Delhi and the credit for her glowing skin goes to Dr Jamuna Pai. Nirmala Shetty has ensured that Sayali has these to-die-for flowing tresses, adding bounce and body which makes her look stunning. Her tall 5’9" frame was toned by holistic health guru Mickey Mehta at Bodyone Golden Manor, Idea.

Most of her wardrobe is designed by New Delhi-based designers. The evening gowns and swimwear by Satya Paul, the formal Indian wear by Ritu Kumar, the western casual wear by Ranna Gill, business suits by Mandira Wirk, designer bags by Kalyani Chawla and footwear by Finesse.

Her excitement was palpable as she is all set to fly Emirates Airlines, an award winning airline that will treat her like a queen. "I have loaded my guns and am all set for the kill."

Miss Wales Amy Guy has jetted off to China hoping to be crowned the most beautiful woman in the world.
And she packed an extra-special good luck charm - a replica of the dress worn to the Oscars by Hollywood star Charlize Theron when she picked up the best actress award.

The ivory gown was donated by a London fashion firm to wish her good luck.

She said she hoped it would bring her as much luck as it did the Monster star.

Amy, 21, from Ruabon, Wrexham, will wear the dress - which is covered in sequins, has a plunging neckline, and is split to the thigh - on the night of the judging.


"The dress is so gorgeous and elegant - with a little bit of sex appeal - it's sure to do me well."

Before leaving the UK on Sunday, she said: "I'm so excited! The dress is fabulous - it's everything I could want.

"I hope it brings me as much luck as it did Charlize.

"Winning Miss World is my dream come true - and hopefully I'll look as good as Charlize to wow the judges on the night.

"The dress is so gorgeous and elegant - with a little bit of sex appeal - it's sure to do me well."

Amy - who is training to be an architect - has vowed to keep her feet on the ground and has spent the past week looking for a job.

She said: "It's been really hectic but I've had a couple of interviews for architects jobs.

"I'm determined to keep my life as normal as possible even with all the excitement of Miss World."

Tshwane executive mayor Father Smangaliso Mkhatshwa on Friday wished Miss South Africa, Joan Ramagoshi, bon voyage prior to her departure for China where she will be attending the Miss World pageant.

The mayor met Ramagoshi at his Pretoria offices yesterday to offer his support. He wished her well and expressed his appreciation for her role as a representative of South Africa.

"I wish you all the best with your endeavours in China and am sure you will represent our country to the best of your ability," he said.

Mkatshwa also thanked Ramagoshi for making Tshwane known to a broader international audience and presented her with a book documenting Tshwane's cultural heritage.

Ramagoshi said although nervous, she was excited about the prospect of travelling to China for the Miss World Pageant.

"It will be a wonderful opportunity to meet the other contestants and experience Chinese culture," said Ramagoshi.

During the pageant contestants would help with charity work in China's poorer communities, she said.

"We will be involved in charity work and I am looking forward to the challenge."

Ramagoshi leaves for China on Sunday and will spend a month travelling through its various provinces as part of the Miss World experience.

On Friday, Ramagoshi also met President Mbeki in Pretoria.

Hey guys this is Miss Bolivia World 2004. Maria Nuvia MONTENEGRO is the name. What a beauty, the face, the body, truly beauty in and out. She will rock the Miss World Pageant in China. We have to wait on how she will carry and put her self in good sights. If she can do well in all the interviews, how well she can carry her self in swinsuit and evening gown and how she can be friends to other candidates. If she can do it all in flying colors no doubt she can be the next Miss World 2004.

Just watch her when Miss World Pageants begin.

The Next Featured Pageant is MISS WORLD 2004.

We will have the top 15 list of Miss World Candidates who can capture the heart of the viewer's. Who can manage to be the favorites of many pageant lover's.

The list can be change from time to time due to their activities, and the projection they will show during the entire pageant. Until we came up with final set of aspiring winners before the pageant starts. Review of different candidates will highlighted and their chances to win the crown.

The Posting of TOP 15 will be on November 3, 2004.

The Miss Earth Coronation Night will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2004, at 7:00 P.M. at the University of the Philippines Theater in Diliman, Quezon City. It will be telecast on a delayed basis at 9:30 P.M. on ABS-CBN Channel 2. It will also be televised on November 21, 2004 at 9 P.M. in the thirty-five (35) countries covered by the footprint of STAR World, the entertainment channel of STAR Group Ltd. (the biggest cable television network in Asia and the Middle East). Television viewers in Australia, the Middle East, Europe, Canada and the United States will also be able to watch Miss Earth at a later date on The Filipino Channel, ABS-CBN’s cable television network.

Miss Earth 2004 is presented by Sunsilk, Close-up, Creamsilk Conditioners and Pond’s Oil Control Facial Wash. Major Sponsor is AVON Color. 61 candidates for Miss International, visits school for Japanese Traditional dance in Tokyo. This dance will use as one of there dance presentation to it's final night on October 16 in China.

Based on the Miss International Pageant Preview held last September 28, 2004 in Tokyo Japan. Each candidates show case their own National Costume and they parade in their own swimsuit. Out of 46 candidates from different parts of the world. 8 candidates stands out during the press pageant preview and consider as early favorites during the presentation they are :

1 - Brazil
2 - Colombia
3 - China
4 - Czech Republic
5 - India
6 - Mongolia
7 - Poland
8 - United Kingdom

This is consider as early favorites, it may change from time to time as Miss International Activities is about to happened. So stay tune to this message board for more updates.
