Subject: IRRESPONSIBLE RIDERS???

TO SAY THAT THE PARAMEDIC CREW ATTENDING SOMEONE NOT REGISTERED FOR THE EVENT WAS IRRESPONSIBLE OF THAT RIDER IS A JOKE. WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF THERE HAD BEEN A CAR CRASH OR A WALKER HAD FALLEN NEARBY? WOULD YOU HAVE BLAMED THEM FOR BEING AS IRRESPONSIBLE IF THE PARAMEDICS ATTENDED? I DOUBT IT! THE ROADS ARE NOT CLOSED FOR FRED WHITTON AND ARE OPEN TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO USE THEM. THIS INCLUDES OTHER CYCLISTS. IT IS PLAIN UNFORTUNATE THAT THIS INCIDENT OCCURED. I WONDER HOW MANY RIDE THE ETAPE DU TOUR ETC WITHOUT REGISTERING? I UNDERSTAND THE PRINCIPLE OF THE ORGANISERS COMMENTS RE SAFETY BUT IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT THERE ARE ALTERNATIVES.
1)WHY NOT ALLOW THOSE WHO HAVE NEVER RIDEN BEFORE THE OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE FIRST CHOICE TO RIDE RATHER THAN THE SAME NAMES APPEARING AT THE FRONT OF THE RESULTS BOARD YEAR AFTER YEAR? DOES IT MATTER IF SOME FAST BOY BEATS 6HRS? NO! BECAUSE AS I AM TOLD IT IS NOT A RACE.
2)WHY NOT ALLOW ALTERNATIVE DATES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR ALLOWING A RIDER TO HAVE A CHOICE. A GREAT WAY TO GENERATE MORE MONEY FOR THOSE CHARITIES AND CONTROL RIDER ENTERIES THROUGHUT THE YEAR. 1 RIDER RIDES ONE EVENT UNLESS UNDER SUBSCRIBED.
3)OFFER AN ALTERNATIVE SHORTER DISTANCE FOR THE NOVICE RIDERS ON A DIFFERENT LESS TECHNICAL ROUTE.
4)IF THE ORGANASATION OF THIS EVENT IS TOO MUCH FOR THE CLUB THEN WHY NOT USE A THIRD PARTY TO RUN PROCEDINGS? SUCH AS BRITISH CYCLING? THEY HAVE VAST EXPERIENCE AND A WEALTH OF HELPERS TO CALL UPON.
THESE ARE ONLY MY SUGGESTIONS I'M SURE THERE ARE OTHERS
