The change in leadership had not changed the island, not in the physical sense anyway. Slender pistons carried the ash-dappled vixen along the water's edge, onyx nails occasionally stepping into the froth. Large, dark orbs scanned the landscape, taking in the picturesque scenery presented to her. But what was this? A lone youngster? The stone-hearted maiden advanced slowly towards the bay colt, intent of fulfilling her welcoming duties. A low nicker escaped from dusky labrums, the throaty sound carrying across the sweetly scented air currents. Stepping cautiously, the moon-washed damsel moved in, head held slightly lower so as not to tower over the little bay.

There, she had done her duty. Would the youngster answer with a name? Or perhaps why he was here alone with no obvious parental units in sight? Who knew. Misa remembered all too well how tight-lipped she had been as a foal, but still waited patiently for any answer that was given.
