She scrunched her nose at the stallion. The faint scent of DOL wafted around him like a hint of a dream of the past. In her mind, bloodlines meant nothing. If DOL and Myr and Steel were gone, then she felt as if there were no royalty at all in the Light lands. There was no loyalty anywhere, except to her own self. A blood red ear flicked forward, towards Adrian and Roxie. Were they from the Exodus? Was Firelight? Shifting her weight testily, her nostrils flattened. This horse, Hexed, was cautious. The practiced mare could tell a lot from posture and demeanor.

His anxious actions showed that he was thinking of a million different things. Why not add to the list? With the parry and thrust of a practiced fencer, she lowered her head and lunged slightly towards the stallion before instantly backing off. The Great War was burned clean in her mind, she remembered the battles fought there. She flinched as she remembered with a sickening jolt the crunch of her own foreleg as she tangled in battle with many a foe. She still favored it when bad weather came. But instead of recalling bad things, it made her think of once-great comradery. She still couldn't believe that everyone - all that she knew and loved - had abandoned her. This thought froze her heart and gave her a go-for-broke attitude that couldn't be thwarted.
