Geez Louise! Where did all these critters keep coming from? First Firelight, then Adrian and his cohort, and now another russet mare, one who wore an annoyingly possessive expression as she surveyed the Isle. His Isle. The Isle that had been under his family's leadership since it was first discovered and inhabited. Yes, Daughter of Light, Steel Dream, and Myrakazaan were gone, had left the responsibility of leading the inhabitants to their eldest son, Shazaam. In turn, when Shazaam had left the throne, the honor fell to the coppery stallion, Hex and his mate, Takara. Once their rule came to an end, it would be passed to the foal that Takara now carried. Bloodlines placed him as the grandson of DOL and Myrakazaan, natural heir to the position he held, and nobody, nobody, would take that from him, not as long as he could still draw breath and fight.

As Firelight's new assault upon him was thwarted by Roxie, the sorrel stallion drew his attention back to the fray. Plush-capped mandible nudged subtly at his golden mother, urging her away. With Takara safely ensconsed at Sun-Kissed Beach, Hex could concentrate more fully on the catastrophe at hand. Perhaps Adrian and Roxie's appearance would prove more an asset than another tribulation to bear. So far, Firelight and her pet had managed to piss the duo from the Exodus off, thus drawing the heat away from him. He would reserve judgement until later... with Adrian, one never knew what he was up to next, a lesson Hex had learned very well.
