Subject: {Unexpected Reunion}

{His steps were uncertain and chancy upon the stiff crust of the earth. He danced in the morning’s first rays that blinded his eyes with its golden wonder. His stride bought his form looming over the small craters left in the earth by the pounding hooves of those creatures built like him and the scent that cloaked the dew was faint but undeniable.}

{He paused, his breath relieving itself into the atmosphere in the form of an odorless vapor. Surely his mother wouldn’t send him on a wild goose chase. She’d told him, warned him, and sent him with a mixed fear and blessing riding upon her heart. He could feel the uncertainty of her command, much as he could feel it in his own form. His tail switched, absentmindedly performing him a favor. And as he thought pondering, he realized that the imprints in the ground could belong to his father. The very stallion he’d never met nor laid eyes on before and fear clutched his gut. Maybe he should just go back, turn away now while he could. How would he even recognize his father? He knew the name only of the male he sought and his voice wouldn’t sing out to ask where he might find the gent. }

{Morning was rapidly departing as he stood stone still in the valley of spring flowers, the eyes of the others would soon be upon him. His own thoughts were driving him from sanity…the peaceful silence of the morning was pure torture as he waited. }
