Subject: Mini-Mod ruling

A mini - mod ruling : the laws state that the defence cannot move forward from the 5m until the ball is in the hands of the first receiver or the dummy half elects to run. So what is the ruling if the dummy half passes the ball to no one, the ball bounces 20m back and a player from the opposing side then runs through, picks up the ball and runs away and scores? ( This created a great deal of fun discussion at our meeting last week )
