We have in the past on the very rare occasion fronted post match press conferences. I did after a SOO, Bill recalls one at Campbelltown and Matt Cecchin famously fronted a press conference in Auckland after his initial foray into first grade. The problem is the referee is always severely restricted in what he may say or not say. Whereas the coach can bag the ref, the ref can't very well bag the coach, or say the the losing team simply can't play, as he may be officiating them the following week. Also, the referee will not have had access to the numerous replays that everyone else has seen. I think it would be a bashing to nothing for the referee to front a conference each week. Good posting tho'.
