I was actually quite disappointed in Tony's peformance in this game. The lattitude allowed to the tacklers and markers made it quite frustrating to watch. What was even more frustrating was a couple of soft penalities in this area, which seemed more like token penalties rather than effective penalties.

However, I don't believe Tony has been alone in this area, as there seems to be a reluctance to penalise of late, and lowering the standards in the PTB seems to have been the method adopted in a number of games to achieve this.

I also agree that Thurston got away with far too much by way of disputing decisions, approaching Tony is a hostile way and lots of arm waving and pointing. I can only assume there is pressure from above not to bin players, but Thurston's display was appalling.
