Scoliosis is a deformations in the spinal column that usually progresses from small deviations and get gradually worse. The extent of the deformations often stops at a moderate stage, but can in some cases get very severe.
The deformation can be sidewise, rotational, foreward or backward, often combined. Often there are deformations at several places in the column in opposite directions so that the severity of the disease is not always discovered before some time. Sideways bendings in a S-shape is typical.
Ideopathic scoliosis is the most common type, and of which one does not know very well the original causes. Ideopathic scoliosis starts some time in childhood, most typically at the pretpubertal stage and pogresses throughout puberty until the growth of the spine is finished, but can get more severe also later. The deformations develop due to unsymmetrical growth in the spinal column, but without any degenarative disease in the spinal structure.
Even though the causes of this kind of scoliosis is not well known, one knows that the tendency to develop scoliosis is to some extent inherited. Chiropractors and cranioscral therapists have a hypothesis that ideopathic scoliosis is caused by blockings that hinder the circulation of cerebrospinal fluid within the column, the blood flow alomg the column and the functions of the nerves along the colum..These blockings are often thought to be caused by stiffness or scars in the muscular layers, in the tendons and fascial layers around the column, in the meningeal membranes around the spinal cord within the column, or of misalignment in the position of the spines according to each other.
Scoliosis can also be caused by neurological and muscular paralyses or malfunctions, so that the muscles excert a different force on one side than another. Also inflammational or degenerative processes in the spines or cartilages between the spines can cause scoliosis.
The main symptoms of scoliosis is of cource the bendings and twistings in the spinal colomn, but other symptoms also appear that one often recognizes before one sees that the spinal colomn has got an abnormal shape. These symptomns are: Leaning towards ine side, shoulder higher than the other, one hip higher than the other. better developed muscles on one side than the other, deformities in the breast cage and unsymmetrical waist. Later one can get back pain.
The diagosis of scoliosis is fairly simple. One first checks if on shoulder is higher than the other. Then one cheks if on hip crest is higher than the other. One looks and feels along the spine while the patient is standig upright to see the curvature. Often the bendings can be seen right away. To be more sure one also lets the patient bend foreward. Where the spine is curved towards one side, one will see a bump on that side of the back, because the bent part of the spine will be pressed outward on that side. By letting the patient do other bends and twistes with the torso, arms and legs, a more complete picture can be made.
During this test the patient must be naked on the back and also on the upper parts of the buttocks. The very best for the diagnosis is a totally naked patient, so that on can also see misalignment of the buttocks that are assosiated with scoliosis, but one usually lets the patient wear underpants and pulls these down more or less at some point in the test.
It is generally recommended that children and teens are examined by such a simple test each year. In many societies this is done in school or at wellchild exams. But parents should do the test on their children themselves to detect a beginning scoliosis as early as possible, at least two times a year.
If scoliosis is detected with such simple tests, and it looks severe enough, one will often do more thorrough examinations, especially with x-ray imaging. If the scoliosis is minimal, one usually will only follow the development to see if it is developing further and how fast it is progressing.
With somewhat more severe deformations the standard treatments are exercises and braces. By scoliosis starting very early, one sometimes uses casting to guide the growth in a right direction. Cranisacral therapists and chiropractors treat scoliosis by manipulations. The manipulations have the aim of taking away mechanical blocks thought to exists around and within the column and thereby reestabishing a healthy growth.
With a more severe development one often performs surgery, by which the cartilages between the spines are removed, the column is stretched out, metallic bars are fastened to the treated sections and bone grafts are placed between the spines so that they grow togeather. The metallic bars will usually remain in place permanently, but can be removed later on if they cause trouble.
By surgery at a very young age, one tend to use bars that can be stretched further out throughout the growth without laying grafts that make the spine stiff.
Surgery imply many hazards for complications both during surgery and during later development, and small or great sections of the spine gets stiff. Often late complications lead to new surgery. A common complication is neurological injuries amd even paralyses. Surgery for scoliosis is therefore not something one shall decide for after just an easy concideration.

I've rebonded my hair 3 times and the 3rd time I did it, it started to frizz and curl badly at the roots and at the ends. It's so bad, I've condsidered shaving it and getting a wig. arghhh...I can truly empathize with all your hair troubles. I am a natural wavy-frizy head. i did rebonding in the Philippines once a year and my GOODNESS...it works like magic...100% super straight and shiny to give it that natural look and not flat nor limp. It was the best so i did it for years. Then I moved to SJ,California. I have been scouring around for a respectable salon that can do the same stuff---NADA! what a disappointment! the best they can do is the Japanese Hair straightening. and i tell you ladies...it's SOOOOOO HORRIBLE....it messed up my hair. it was soooo limp and dry and not even all the way straight. it made my hair looked like it's just glued to my scalp like some sort of nasty wig!!!!...and all the while i though CALIFORNIA got the best stuffs in beauty....what a disappointment. If any gal-friedns out there knows of any salon in SJ, CA that can do rebonding as good as they do in Phillippines and Singapore (the best!---i have seen it!), let me know....HELP!!!!!!!

i have a problem here is my hair spit ends and damage, i have been to salon for colouring my hair after every 6 month, it was Ok for the first 3 times when i go for colouring, until the forth time i go to the same salon and having my hair coloured, i started to felt that my hair became very sticky and dry and even my hair color is faded at the same time. i duno wat should i do, so i have given an advice of treatment, after 2 weeks, my hair turn into some sort of weird colour that most of friends thought that i recolour my hair. Hi, my overall body skin is okay. But at my buttocks where the sit bones are, the skins are darker and coarser than the rest of the body. I guess it¡¯s because I am thin and when I sit, the bones press the skin and those regional skins are rubbed all the time.

I have rebonded my hair for three times already and recently I intend to rebond my hair for the fourth time but is worried that it will damage my hair. I heard that Shishedo product is very good. But not a lot of salons in singapore is using this japanese brand. Does that mean it is not that good after all since not many salons carry this brand? I like to find a good stylist who is very good at rebonding, but I do have a tight budget. Do you have any good recommendation? Thanks!

I got the process done about a week ago. It took a little over 6 hours. The guy that did my hair was a real professional. My hair was incredibly beautiful. I was so happy with the results. It cost me $695. If you have the money to do it, I say go for it. Before I did Japanese hair straightening, I hated my hair. Now, I love it. I couldn't have ever imagined that my once curly hair could be this straight and beautiful.

about a year ago my hairdresser put a black hair dye on my hair. after i washed my hair again, i noticed that it had changed the texture of my hair, but in a good way. it had relaxed the natural curls i have in my hair. i put another dye on my hair since then for my roots but it didn't do the same thing and now i'm looking for tis dye again. is there such a thing as a hair dye that contains a hair relaxer, and if so where can i find it?

Hi, well i'm not relatively new to rebonding. This is my 3rd time. The very first time i did it was when the system got introduced and wasn't so bloody trendy. It worked great! 2nd time was marvelous too. But the 3rd time has been a disappointment for me. The last 2 years the owner did the re-bonding for me, I noticed she took her time in applying the creams/gels and carefully ironed out my hair. Her assistant who did my sister's hair last year however hurried the process. My sis's hair become wavy in just hours. She was so sad, I couldn't help her out.
This year the owner wasn't there but the assistant was. She seemed to know what she was doing until she hurried the process. I was a little suprised that the whole thing finished so fast compared to the last 2 years i've been doing it! I went back home happy with what i saw in the mirror. The morning after then came the shock treatment. My hair was wavy a the back and curled up infront. I spent $140 on my hair and went back to her. I stated how unhappy i was cos this has never happened to me before as i always wait until my hair is healthy before i actually proceed to do any rebonding. She re did my hair that day and I went home, praying it wouldn't curl up again.
She then asked me to come back for a steaming session 2 days later, i did. Slightly wavy to straight again. I even bought special shampoo for rebonded hair. ( Capirelax ReBond System) shampoo.
Now my problem is that my hair is wavy infront and dry. I noticed that as soon as i washed my hair on Deepavali morning. What a shock i got after i blow dried my hair!
She told me it was a japan product she used. The best part came when she asked me $30 for steaming my hair. So now i ended up paying $170 for my hair which is not done well as i hoped. I went to pay her today and told her my hair didn't look good. And she said it was because of my layered hair and asked me if my hair touched water? Um...wtf? I mean she told me it was okay to take a hair wash after 3 days! She told me my hair was straight enough when it had gone all wavy. I had no choice but to leave.
What should i do? My hair doesn't have the shiny look like my past re bonding experience and doesn't feel silky at all. Should i buy the special conditioner for my hair too? Cos i'm using the Pantene smooth & silky one now. I would appreciate it if anyone could give me advice.
Sorry this was so long as this is my first time experiencing such unsatisfactory results.

i decided to shave "down there" because i thought it would be better and look nicer...you know how the story goes. well, i did so, used shaving cream and shaved very carefully....but now i have these red, itchy bumps- which i assume is razor burn? or is it not? what is it? and how can i help it? heal it? prevent it? and what should be the RIGHT way to get rid of hair down there? help!...please tell me that i dont have to freak out this much! i would appriciate any advice you can give me. Hi... I hav brittled hair after my mum brought me to a cheap hair cut. I was unsatisfied and went for another hair cut within that month. but i was not satisfied and for a expenive one. This hairdresser juz help me cut abit so i was not satisfied and went for a 3rd haircut. it was still at the saem lenght and it turns out to be bob hair. as i dun like the bob hair, i went for the 4th haircut. I'm still not satisfied. So i decided to do the ice-rebonding. but i m afarid it will turn out bad. Can u help me to think of a good way not to let me hair bob?? I just rebonded my hair a few days ago but i wasnt very satisfied with the effect. The hairstylist is from japan and he uses japan products but i was sad that e effect turn out to be unexpected. My hair though became thin and soft but it is slightly curled up. Is it because i have shoulder length hair? My friends told me that shoulder length hair tend to curl up but it'll be straight after a few days and when it is being washed. Is it true?

I have heard some things about the Japanese hair straightenign system, that it makes even frizzy and curly hair humidity proof. They also claim that you will be able to let your wet hair air dry and it will come out strait. I have seen this process costs any were from $400-600. I saw pictures and the seemed pretty convincing. Is this process the same as rebounding? Has anyone ever done this before and gotten the results you wanted??

I got some rebeonding problem also. A month ago, I have my hair rebonding. Before rebonding, I done hair relaxer half-a-year ago, which the hair-stylist said is ok. After rebonding, i quite satisfy as after relaxer, my hair is quite striaght( wat i hope is can be soft than last time).
But same, the next morning i woke up, my hair is not as soft as the time i walked out of the salon (Jean Yip). When the times goes, my hair became more dry, worse than my relaxer.
Im so sad and angry, i cry for days. Then, 5 days ago, i went back to another Jean Yip, i told 1 of them tat i do rebonding. Then, now is turned up like nothing.. The aim i went there is to trim my hair. Then, i asked what shld i do hair treatment or wat to improve. He said I shld do hair treatment, then ask me to do the most expensive one.
Now, almost my ends are very dry, got split ends and even got alot os 'knots'. Im thinkg to do another hair rebonding, is it possible? Hope you can advise me. Thanx.

Can someone give me any advice regarding the rebonding process? I had my hair rebonded one month ago. I already straightened my hair 6 months ago and did the touch-up with the rebonding process on the roots. My hair was pretty healthy as I went to the salon almost every week for hair treatments. The hairdresser waited a bit at the roots, then at the end (for almost two minutes), she combed through the ends of the hair where I already had straightened it. On top of that, she used a saphire iron instead of the ceramic. It's been almost two months now and my hair was dull and there was no way of combing it. I had to chop off some ends in order for it to look better. It was breaking and splitting as well. Now that I cut it, it is better.
WHat can I do now when I have to do the next touch up?
I am worried. Please help.

I had read most of the messages thathad been posted. It seems that straight perm is better than rebonding. May i noe is straight perm same as relaxing? How long it take to straight perm n how much it cost?

I got 2 problems actually.In the past, Ilove wearing skirts until I got scars around my leg areas due to rashes.It was sooooo itchy that I can't stop scratching so hard till it bleed.It is soo ugly.How to make it disappear?
Can it vanish completely or will it remain?
Lastly,how to remove these nasty eyebags? I always sleep wee hours in the morning...FYI I'm kinda nocturnal.
