This is my guru, I have been with him and it it everything to me, but describing that is difficult. YES, many people believe he is the same. There is NO objective reality to this, it is a matter of heart (like everyhting) THere is an ashram in Colorado, USA as well, www.babajiashram.org ANYBODY can visit the temple there (dedicated to Divine Mother. Any sincere person who can follow ashram schedule (includes good dose of karma yoga) is also welcome to stay there. There will also be an international gathering there in June which will have an ecumenical bent as the area, Crestone, is home to many spiritual traditions and this is an important part, acceptance of various forms. The emphasis is one people doing their sadhana, and learning to cooperate as a community of people on the planet. The emphasis on special personalities is not promoted as most humans have defects and one must learn to tune into the Divine within. Yes, I know Shedma Goodman (Shivani, don't remember how she authors her book who is a pschologist who wrote that book). I recommend rather I Am Harmony by Radhe Shyam, Fire of Transformation by Gaura Devi (hippy turned and remained renunciate), or Babaji, The Unfathomable by Gertraud Reichel, a German woman, all available, at least when in stock from the various ashrams. We are also working on a world-wide web that has a "Family/Community" emphasis rather than an organizational one, as no organization can ever really contain a great being.
Whoever he was (and yes, MANY people think he is THE Babaji, a temporary body, let us say, including many who have a tie to Yogananda and his line) but again that answer is inside you.
Bodies are temporary, only here to serve a purpose, when they are over they drop away and the energy continues (he said something like that). The only person who says something about him having a Western parent is Marshall Govindan and who is he? Most people believe it was either a temporary body or a worked over resurrected one, these are more common belief systems in India and there is no contracdiction between having multiple bodies. He hung out in a jungle/forest with a teenage appearance for several years, doing a LOT of just meditation. then stayed in Haidakhan and "Got public" somewhat. No one knows where he came from and there have been lots of attempts to find out. Then he seemed to "know" everything. It is a mystery just as the Divine is. He is fond of creative teachings, called leelas, no one else exhibits anywhere near this creativity in their teaching, he is an evolutionary teacher, whereby people must cooperate with one another for their liberation and whereby EVERYTHING, including all belief systems, the thing we hold most sacred, must also go. Please feel free to contact me for any information. Also call to Babaji yourself, just as it says in AY and allow this Divine Energy to manifest for you in some form, some time.
