Subject: Visiting Edmonton...need to rent 2 road bikes July 23rd...experience riders will pay!!

The couple to be married, I cycled across Canada with in 1999. ON the morning of the wedding there is a couple hour ride. I hate to ship our bikes out for a short ride, and we are only in Edmonton for a couple of days. I have called several bike stores and no one seems to rent.... My girlfriend and I are very experienced riders and looking to rent two bikes for the sat morning. Can anyone help or couple of die hard cyclists? Cheers Tim [ Post a Reply to This Message ]

I just bought a road bike this year (I've done a fair bit of mountain biking in the past and some road riding in the more distant past). I live in Old Strathcona and I'm wondering about riding routes for one hour rides or two hour rides (about 30km/60km for me). I'm not thrilled about riding on the main roads to get out of town and am wondering about anyone's preferred route from Strathcona to some rural roads. I'm also wondering about some goog routes to ride east and southeast of the city. I did ride east on range road 224 (I think) to Fort Saskatchewan and thought that was a really nice ride, but if anyone has any other suggestions for rides (or suggested resources for route guides or whatever), I would really appreciate hearing about them. Subject: Golden Triangle

My girlfriend and I are very interested but she has heard all kinds of rumors of it being very dangerous (people getting hit by motorhome side mirrors) and that its a very hard ride!
