Subject: Hello to all who read this!

First I would like to Thank everyone that has congratulated my daughter on her 1st ever all around buckle.I would also like to help get some things clearified. To all the new members my husband is the vice pres.(the big round man no one ever sees because he is behind the cattle chutes pushing up stock all day.) He would welcome any one willing to get a little smelly to help him.And once he has met you he will never forget who you are. He is the type of person who stops and shoots the bull with everybody.Just make sure you have a little time on your hands. Every director and officer out in the arena are out there busting their behinds for every kid there. Not just their own. They treat each child equally. One of the reasons the officers and directors did happen to get stalls is not because they have
money or are in a "click" It's because they aren't able to be there to make sure their child gets saddled and help get them in the arena alot of times.Alot of the officers and their spouses are both working and can't be there to help their child. so it does help our kids be able to get their own stuff. And yes we did get a pretty good spot to park our trailers. The reason you may ask. Well for beginners my husband didn't get to our trailer til 12:00 a.m. Friday night because he was taking down the cutting pen, puttin up barriers and staking out the arena and tending to the stock that has to be watered and fed. If you haven't noticed he is a little large and I can't quite haul him in if he gets too exhausted. So i would give you my spot if you will be out there to take up his slack and bring him a sandwich to the back pens and a drink of water every now and then. And for the D.Q. that you don't understand. You can probably ask some of the "old timers" they could probably tell you.
This is one of the fairest organizations around. The judges are pretty up on the rules and you may have not seen what happened but I'm sure there was a little something. There are alot of people in this that are not rich.It is hard on every one with gas the price it is.But we as parents give up alot for our kids. As for the stalls being so much. Most of the places we go don't require you to get a stall so if you can't afford it at that time you can tie out or use portable stalls. Now on sportsmanship.I don't know if you know Jamie Barrows but that kid cheers on a contestant that runs a 40 sec. barrel run and a kid that may come in there and beat her time. You see those kids cheering each other on
no matter who it is. They may be on a $500.00 pony or a $30,000.00 horse. But in those kids eyes they are just a friend. Well to sum it up this will be our last year for awhile. We do have a 2 year old and hope our rookie riders will keep this assoc. going strong so it will be just as great in 10 years when we come back. P.S. Cowgirl up if you did get a D.Q. this weekend. Learn from your mistakes and kick butt next time!
