Unfortunately because of the early kick-off I was not able to make the match against Nuneaton on Saturday. According to the reports in the Press I missed a good match. However I noted with interest that because of the absence on holiday of Nicky Lloyd and Kevin Ellis that Byron played at scrum-half and according to the report made an excellent job of it. But this does pose the question, What has happened to our young scrum-half Rhodri Jones, an excellent prospect, why wasn't he playing, he has not appeared in either friendly match to date. I hope we haven't let him go, it's excellent young players like Rhodri who we should be hanging on to if we are going to have a future. Can anyone tell me what has happened to him?

Also how did Uni Moa play against us, hope he had a good game?

Unfortunately, we have let Rhodri Jones and Gareth Jenkins go!! Shouldn't we be bringing these young promising players through the system???

[> Subject: If, as seems to be indicated by the replies to my original question, we have let Rhodri Jones go then we must be stupid. We make all this fuss on the web and in the press about the loss of our youth team and the lack of support from Torfaen Borough Council and the WRU but what are we doing to encourage and develop our young talent? Very little it would seem if we can let players like Rhodri go but give contracts to players at the end of their career, and after boasting on this very web site about giving contracts to four or five ex-youth from last year, Rhodri included. That would appear to be a joke from where I'm sitting.
