Guess this confirms that he was the player that Steve Jones talked about in the Argus asking for ludicrous money then. Junner mentioned a player came to us asking for �25K a year when he was willing to offer �13K.
As you state, that's the difference between 1st division semi-pro's and premier league full time pro's. Premier clubs get considerably more funding so can afford to pay reasonable salaries to players so they can concentrate fully on their rugby.
