In response to some of the replies to my comments re the play-offs. My suggestion that some Caerphilly players may have been rested for the Aberavon game was contested so if I was mistaken I do apologise.
Secondly I didnt say Caerphilly were a poor side but said that by their results they had a disaster of a season.
In reply to whether the play-offs are fair or not I can respect and appeciate both viewpoints but have to come down in favour of no play offs as (1)I believe it was set up to protect any of the big clubs from finding themselves in an embarrasing position of being relegated. (Although with all due respect I dont think it was meant for clubs like Caerphilly)(2)It is very unfair on a team that has given its all throughout a long season to win the 1st division title and then have their future decided on just two games. As far as Caerphilly is concerned having lost 19 out of 20 league matches in the Premiership one could argue that they havent earned the right to be there for another season. On the other hand Caerphilly could have had the good fortune to have won say 12 matches but still find themselves in a relegation situation then that could add more weight in favour of this this play-off. The reason being that they could be deemed to be to good a side to be relegated to the 1st division and would more than hold their own against lesser teams in the 1st division.

[> Subject: Automatic promtion is a MUST. You creme a la creme from the Premier teams are still missing the point. Caerphilly v Avon, POOLA or Newbridge. Premier teams will ALWAYS have the edge in the play-offs (1) Larger squad (more funding) (2) Less games played (3) Caerphilly were dead and buried in January. Avon did not secure title until 14 May !!

>>have to agree automatic promotion is a must as is demotion. the team at the bottom would then have to improve their game and play better to try to avoid relegation and without promotion from the lower leagues what is the point in them even being in the league they just as well go back to district just leaving the premier league. (hold on is that what the WRU want anyway)
