Well let me tell you about a few rumors I've heard over the past couple of weeks on Pooler's latest signings and departures.

Apart from Mikey Powell (Brigend bound)everyone from last year has been offered a contract.

Byron (who signed a 3 year contract last year) has a clause in his contract saying he can leave after 1 year if he is unhappy. He is desperate to play Premier Rugby again!!

So don't be surprised if he rejoins Ebbw, he has been offered to Pontypridd, but they want Neil Jenkins instead!

Jason Strange is unhappy at Newport because lack of 1st team outings and maybe on a dual to Pooler.

John Deveraux is coming to Pooler as backs coach (which is one of the reasons Byron is leaving!)

Richard Field is on his way back to Pooler after being released by Pontypridd.

Lyndon Mustoe is retiring.

Pooer desperate to land signings in the following positions:

1x Loose Head
1x Tight Head
1x 2nd Row
1x Reseve Scrum Half

Contracts will be signed this week for current players and new signings so keep your ears open!

Anybody else heard these rumors?

I was chatting to someone last night who knows two Rumney players. She said that Richard Field was on the way there!!
Apparently this was sorted nearly 2 weeks ago...so who knows what's happening with him.
To be honest I'd be gutted if he did go there instead of back to us. I still remember his last season with us...especially the Cup win against Neath!!

Cheers....Glyn

Dont know where you heard that Rumney rumour from....I heard that Richard Field would love to come back to Pontypool, only thing stopping him is that he is hoping to stay in the premier....if this is true I doubt very much that he would sign for Rumney. Fingers crossed Pooler!!!

Mike, If you read my message you will see that I was told by someone who knows two Rumney players. No smoke without fire??
Like you I can't see any reason why he would go to Rumney when he'd be a great asset to us.

Cheers....Glyn
[> Subject: Why would Lyndon retire,he is still very young for a prop, unless it is due to injury which would be a great shame .He made a huge impact for us this season and could have been the cornerstone of our pack for a few years yet !!

>For me Byron is our key player. He really showed last season how he can make things happen out there on the pitch in the thick of the action. He is worth 3/4 Devereaux's!

My only other comment on the current state of play is that I see no point in the webmaster canvassing views as to whom we should try to sign until we know where the gaps will arise.
