Not sure what big store we shopped at on Central Ave but I remember cutting through the hills of Yonkers and my parents always telling us that the Mafia lived there. Central Ave had quite a few discos that I went to the three years I lived in Westchester and taught at WPHS. Central Ave was also the site of my favorite restaurant Patricia Murphys.
