Natalie Jenkins of Corpus Christi - alumna of King High School and recent graduate of Texas A&M University - took third-runner-up honors at the Miss Texas Galaxy Pageant held late last month in San Antonio.

She also won Miss Photogenic and Miss Supermodel.

"That was my first pageant ever, so I was actually surprised to do so well," the 21-year-old said via cell phone from her car en route to Houston, where she is moving to be closer to her fiance and to find work in the field of journalism. "I'm not your typical pageant girl."

For winning Miss Supermodel, Jenkins will be featured in a full-page photography ad in Supermodels Unlimited, an international fashion magazine.

Pageant contestants were judged on a personal interview, fashion, swimsuit and evening gown competitions, with finalists answering an on-stage interview question. The winner was Natalie Bell of McAllen.
