Subject: Poor Lucy

Lucy is our Red Cap Oranda that now floats to the top of the tank instead of wiggling around the tank as she used to. We have recently noticed her staying at the top corner of the tank and if she swims down to the bottom of the tank, as soon as she stops wiggling she rises to the top again. She has also lost her appetite. She still eats but at a much slower rate than before.
If she moves in the way of the stream of the filtered water, it pushes her to the other side of the tank. She is lethargic and while she seems to be making an effort to move from time to time, it all seems too hard for her.
We have made no drastic changes to the tank. The ph is normal and as we have another goldfish that has shared the tank with her for the past 12 months who is swimming and eating as usual we think there is nothing wrong with the tank.
Her body weight is evenly placed on both sides and the tail fin has alot of red veins in it. These veins have regularly appeared, some days darker than others, and in the past this has not caused us any concern.
The baffling thing is there is plenty of information regarding fish sinking to the bottom, but we have not been able to locate any information about fish floating to the top.
Any ideas or information would be GREATLY appreciated.
We LOVE Lucy.
Thanks
Deana and Tony
