Michele, I hope this is of some use to you... They can be aggressive. Their max size is 4-5" and they prefer water around the temperature of 78F.

Breeding:
The male has a pointed dorsal fin and the female's rounded. The male will build a bubble nest for the eggs.


Diet: Fresh zucchini, lettuce, peas and spinach.. Live brine shrimp, blood worms, glass worms and tubifex worms. Frozen daphnia, plankton, blood worms, brine shrimp and glass worms. Freeze dried and flake foods also accepted

Temperament: Peaceful with fish of the same size. Males may fight with each other

Comments: They use their feelers underneath their bodies to scope out new items or fish in the aquarium. A well rounded diet is important, otherwise the fish will die prematurely.
