chico - I'm sure you've read the bulk of the bible, if not the whole thing. You can't honestly tell me that there isn't some fucked up shit in there - Jehova killing thousands of people, him helping the Israelites kill thousands of people, etc. There's racism in there, there's sexism in there. There's all kinds of shit in there that runs contrary to a healthy, happy society.

And the gospels contradict each other on numerous occasions. They can't ALL be correct - so even 60 years after Christ's death they was already at least some deviation from his teachings.

2 things not in the Bible that are often assumed:

There is nothing in the Bible indicating that pre-marital sex is wrong.

There is also nothing in the Bible to indicate marraige the way we define it today.
