I was 15 - see my brother was severly allergic to horses, so she decided I wasn't allowed to ride even though he was out of the house by the time I was in 4th grade! It isn't as easy to ride in the city LA or Cleveland! So I just saved up loads of money and bought a custom made hand sewn leather cowboy hat and some fancy boots and argued with all my friends why western was the useful way to ride and that if I wanted to bump up and down on a horse (posting) that I could put a quarter in a machine and it would make as much sense! They never even cared that I din't ride cause they knew I new a lot about it and was into rodeo and bull riding, etc. I tellyou the first time I got on a horse it was old Home - the living couch who LOVED to roll in the pond! This guy was so weet and so funny you would never have expected to have roll ya - I was they only person who managed to get hin across the river with out being rolled - I figure he saw me yelling at Chief for trying to bite my butt again and took sympathy - I really don't know how tall Cheif was - he always seemed to stand different and I never asked his height - but I'm 5'4" and his back was above my head. I had to use a stool to goom him - would that make him about 17 1/2 or 18? He was HUGE. Spice was a little under 17 and he was the only horse I almost ever owned. But one day - a good riding horse is a lot more affordable than a champ bucking bull! Oh they tried me on every onry horse they had befoe the let me do more than groom spice - but none was worse than that pony - never want to get on another pony again! And I mean never - Id get ona donkey first! Onry nasty sneaky little bugger!
