Now the only reason Nim "The Mouse" was upon that pier in the first place was due to that last threat made by Fetch. She had tried to ignore it, but that likely purposeful slip of 'Gov' had neatly made this impossible. All sorts of pirates she had dealt with in her time, but none with such a powerful possible title. It meant that there wouldn't be one or two inept killers sent for her. It meant there would be many, and some might even have skill at it. Worse, she had lingered too long in these lands. She had what could only be termed as friends at that tavern she became entangled with. Friends that would unwisely interfere with pirate assassins. Blake in particular would interfere the most. She could try to vanish, but she knew Blake at least would follow, and no doubt so would these particular pirates. It was best she simply find a way to settle the matter with their boss. She did not come unprepared, however. The hidden pockets of her cloak were filled with many things, some specific to this meeting. There was a small pack tied to her hip as well and most strangely, she had brought her lute. It bounced lightly upon her back as she walked.
As she moved upon those grey boards and heard the jeers likely meant for her, she trembled inside. Yet not from the jeers...no...to them she blew a kiss into the foggy shadows and forced a fetching smile and wave. It was something else that made her pause and take a deep breath of salty air.
The giant man appeared from no where but she didn't even flinch. She dug out the note, said the name of whom sent it. When she is taken to the row boat, she appears to wage an inward battle. Eventually she moves and lowers herself into the center. Her natural balance seems a bit thrown off this eve though as that boat rocks wildly under her booted feet until she quickly sits down. She is content not to exchange a word with that mountain as her eyes are fixed upon the dock they had left and remain so until the row boat makes a hollow wooden bump upon what would only be the ship. She had swallowed several times during the short ride and her brown face looked a little less so.
She felt the rope ladder brush past her shoulder and so turned and took hold of it. The first few rungs were not a problem. Roguish instincts had her climbing speedily and gracefully. She felt the giant's hands try to stay upon her but she was quick enough at first that his stolen pleasures were brief....that is until she was midway up that tall ship. Then the tossing sea was caught at the edge of her vision and her climb slowed to near a stop. 'Billy Boy' got a good feel then and maybe it was a good thing that he was there to annoy her as she finally shook her head and began taking the rungs again. She looked only at the rope until nearly surprised by the hands that snagged her and pulled her aboard.
She was in a bit of a daze so hardly noticed the sailor that ran into her. Now that door was before her and she had to collect her mind. She must have been out of it still to wish and 'thank' her escort. Normally, she gave thanks to no one for anything. There was no need. Everyone had there motives and their pay of one sort or another.
A fairly nasty jeer brought her to her senses and made her grin. She opened the door and took long moments to survey the captain's captain. Already she had an impression of him.
"Considering it is nightfall, I'm sure you do not have all day. Nor, M'Lord Governor, do I." She threw that 'ace' out on the table immediately so that he'd know he wasn't dealing with some easily frightened child. "I've come here to listen to the idea of a job you have for me but also to warn you that I may not take it and to warn you that I have my own connections who will not take kindly to the way your crew have been treating me."
