Well Golly, there's drugs in Dracut? I hate to sound like a cynic but kids were twisting fatties and doin hits of Mesc when I was in school way back in the early 80's. The bathrooms at DHS smelled like a Jamaican flop house with all the ganga being smoked in there.

And there was a liquor store in town near Pete's Grain where if you could reach the counter to put your money down, they guy would sell to you. Of course, this was before MADD Mothers and SADD students.

I think we are inundated with allot of lazy wimpy parents who want to be their kid's buddies and not disciplinarians. I see kids raising hell in church, in stores and restaurants and the "parents" do absolutely nothing.

Now, I was a kid once. (some might suggest I still am!) I broke all the rules. Our parties were out on Long Pond when it was frozen over. Big Bonfires! Trying to cross the lake on slippery ice with half a slant on and faking sobriety to get past the parents are all fond memories of my mis-spent youth.

So are weeks in the house after an initial going over by my father when I couldn't fake it one night. I think this is the part that is missing now.

Before I start sounding like DR Laura, I just leave it at that!
