It's a shame that nobody seems to think that the whole government of Newburgh will only screw everything up. But that's what the government gets for its own actions I suppose. Meanwhile I was just wondering who would have expected Dia to ever want the Nabisco factory in Beacon or that anybody would want any of the leftovers on Main St.? Look at how Beacon came back. The NSB building is a natural for local history collections, art gallery, music venues. It's really like a little Grand Central and look what they do there these days. Class and culture. NSB has been home to a beautuful Manuscript Museum for years. It could be the cornerstone of Newburgh's revival. Or it could become a Family Dollarama, tax exempt social services or Church of You'veneverheardofme. Or it could sit empty until it crumbles and the city demolishes it in one day like most of Newburgh. That would really be a shame. Maybe we need some if Beacon's planners to come help over here.
