Like Katrina I really enjoyed the whole experience of being in 'Lust in the Dust'. I did suspect that the play had not been produced 'often' as it didn't come up on any search engines when I looked for it (at the end of June, when offered the part)

However, on reading it, I really enjoyed the play and could see that it had potential. Also, I had also worked with most of the cast and directors before and knew they would all give it 100% (even Howard).

Throughout the rehearsal period we all had a few doubts about sections of the play that we didn't think worked 100%. However, on the first night, the bits I thought were naff got the biggest laughs from the audience - and what I thought was my best joke got lost in the telling (although I did manage to get a few titters for the rest of the run).

I think that we have given the audience an enjoyable night out. Those members of the audience who did not come along to the theatre with pre-conceived ideas about the plays lack of provenance had a most enjoyable evening. Those that came along determined not to enjoy themselves, probably got a surprise and had a bit of a giggle (but probably daren't admit it in public).

I had quite a few people come along to watch me perform for the first time at BLT. Most of them had never been before. Every single one of them said they enjoyed the play - even though it was silly - the ending was obvious - my wig didn't fit - the dummy was breathing (honest) - the set wobbled - the list goes on and on, but they all said they enjoyed it even so.

And that to me is what it is all about - having a laugh...
