Though not all of us drive, a structured car pooling or "zip car" idea might work. i am for hitching donations, though it would change the nature of "hitching." what about getting all bio diesel vehicles strictly for "zip car" usage, including a mini van, which can be the "hitching van" (a way to get around the insurance issues) that travels the island for x amount of hours on certain days picking up paying hitchers. or better yet, lets create some jobs starting our own bicycle transportation with 10 electric bikes that have a wagon for at least 2-3 people to fit in....NYC style! India Style... i like the bike idea best...though cold...it would be a hit during summer time, one summer season would probably pay for the cost of the bikes...hmmmm
