Subject: Chapter 12. Q1. Pamela also knows that Love is a bastard and that Casey is not and is probably thinking that Emma might help her out in order to help Casey. I think she's also desperate to end the whole bloody mess and is willing to try anything to get the info she needs on Love. 2) I think we all come to the point where we can't take anymore -- whatever "it" may be -- and I think Emma has reached that point. She really doesn't care anymore what happens to her in many ways and so she's finally willing to sell out on Love. 3)

  • Chapter 14) Q. 2. Olie surprised me, too, as did Hallbjorn. How far Love can reach is demonstrated here, and to me further justifies Pamela taking such a drastic course as to sleep with Love in order to get rid of him. There literally would be nowhere safe for them to run in the world, never mind America or Ireland if Love was free. Q2. Working on a fishing boat is dangerous at the best of times, so I think Casey would have brushed any accidents or near-misses off as part of the job. Also, he was so miserable and worried about Pamela, that he probably wasn't as observant as he would normally be. Q4) No, I haven't seen the Northern Lights, but would love to, definitely one of those "Things to Do Before You Die". (NT) -- Carla, 08:21:32 09/12/07 Wed
  • I agree with pretty much all Carla has said. I would like to add that, while they are in Boston, Casey always felt a bit 'off-balance' to me, really out of his comfort zone and element--never more so than on the boat!!! (NT) -- LadyPeggyB, 09:24:49 09/12/07 Wed
  • Ditto on the "Things to Do Before You Die". Want to go together? (NT) -- JaneH, 10:22:40 09/12/07 Wed
  • Fully agree with you about the length of Haggerty's reach. I don't think there would've been anyplace truly safe for them if Pamela and Casey had just taken off somewhere together. They'd have been constantly looking over their shoulders. (NT) -- Elaine, 10:54:52 09/12/07 Wed
  • Carla, you don't have to travel too far north to see the aurora borealis, I've seen it in southern Alberta several times. Not super colourful, but still dancing lights. (NT) -- Denise, 11:47:44 09/12/07 Wed
