As for the paintings ( a really interesting question), I don't know all these artists so I can only comment on a few- Pollack- well, that's Jamie's life- trying to make sense of what seems senseless, trying to see the beauty and the pattern in something that seems completely out of control. Degas was a man who saw the beauty and tenderness in what others looked upon as the seedy side of life. (NT) --
