Subject: 4. Yes, I 've experienced this and besides travel, I have one brother in law who is a British national and one who is Jordanian and my eyeballs have almost popped out when the Jordanian one gets going. Its amazing how different his perspective is on such things as Saddam and Israelis. Its difficult to believe that someone who had a Jewish friend as a groomsmen at his own wedding could have these ideas, but they're bred into him passed down by what his grandparents experienced (they were Palestinian). And honestly, one doesn't hear a lot of that side in our news. As far as the media, whether its TV, newspaper, magazine- they're all slanted by what is left out. That's why its so important to get news or any information from a wide variety of sources. All people have opinions- they can't help that. That's why I love National Geographic- the articles are so long that they have time to present many views. today's news blurbs are the worst for getting valid info. IMHO

I do the same thing when I am in pain- I retreat and withdraw inside myself. I think that's because that's where I feel safest and the most understood. When I am really stressed, I don't eat which is odd when you think about it since I feel I am the only one I can rely on, why would I want to diminish myself? Bet a psychiatrist could have a field day with that one. (NT) -- susiej, 08:09:28 10/12/07 Fri
