I can't even presume to slightly understand the male psyche, but I wondered, if Casey had known what a basket case his family was, would it have helped. Probably not, he would feel that much more helpless. Guess that's the rub yea? You want to be able to provide and protect your family, if you can't, you want to entrust them with someone who can and yet when they do it bothers you that you couldn't.
