Subject: 63.1) I think you make a good point, Jane, when you speak about repaying the debt. I can relate to Casey here. He had to hand off his job to somebody else for the safety of his family, not because he wanted somebody else to actually take over his role. He seems mad at Jamie, but I think really it's the bigger picture that angers him - that circumstances prevented him from being the husband and foster-father he wanted to be all along. Jamie, being so capable, just serves as a good target at the moment, but in reality, there's nobody to punch. His enemy is not within reach. (63.2) Yes, I definitely think powerlessness is emasculating. Even without restraints, the man is still being tethered, and he can't do a thing about it. It really is like impotence.

  • (63.3) Pamela knows how to soothe Casey. She really meant those words, but she also knew just when to say them, just when Casey needed to hear it the most. (63.4) Casey's love for his dad is evident in so many ways. I think he felt he owed it to Lawrence to spend some time with him. He was also leaving his footprint in Jamie's territory, since Jamie had helped Lawrence build the model. I think at this point, after getting his aggression out on the poor defenseless door, Casey was beginning to balance his feelings out a little. (NT) -- Elaine, 14:00:13 10/14/07 Sun
