Mary Thompson's office, a hard look turned upon the young nurse standing before them.

"I....I'm so sorry!" Elly said, then bursting into tears, she said again. "I'm so very sorry! I thought....I really thought..."

Burying her face in her hands, she sobbed.

Dixie's expression softened and she placed a hand on the hunched shoulders. "What's done is done." she said softly.

Elly looked up at her, shaking her own head adamantly. "But what I did was awful! To you...to all the those other poor souls...even to the patient!" Looking away, she chocked out, "What kind of NURSE am I!?"

"A very good, Nurse, Elly...." Mary said, standing and coming around to the front of her desk. "A very good Nurse who made a very BIG mistake."

"I really am so, so sorry...." Elly said again, looking between Mary and Dixie.

Dixie studied the young woman. She had come down to get an explaination and to "take a bite out of" the fool who had put every one who cared about Johnny through such hell....now that somehow seemed unnecessary.

"It's like Mary just said....you made a mistake. That doesn't make you a bad nurse...it just makes you...human." Dixie offered, her voice kind."

Smiling at Elly, she stood, then announced. "I have to get back over to Rampart...I'll trust you to see that Johnny is well cared for while he's here."

Crawing in a deep breath, Elly returned the smile, then said gratefully. "You can count on that, Miss. McCall!"
