1. Music certainly can nourish the physical body such as when one plays music and works up a sweat or causes one's muscles to be tired for a little while. Also, there is the classic example of dance and using one's music while exercising. It is also important to note that in exercise videos or while doing yoga, music is always playing in the background, I'm sure this helps one to focus the mind, get rid of distractions and work out like champ!
2. usic affects the health of the mind in many ways. For example, people who listen to music about being depressed often become so because it changes the mind's health. Also, a healthy mind can be considered as a happy mind and music often helps people to enter into a good mood and be pleasant. As a more personal example, in September I went to a Rilo Kiley concert and it was incredible, by far the best concert I've ever been to, and Inoticed a dramatic improvement in my mental well being in the weeks following.
3. Music definietly can damage one's soul. People who listen to music with deeply derogatory lyrics often have self esteem issues because the music subliminally tells them they are not worth anything. If one's soul is healthy, then they are happy. Also, when too much immoral music is attended to, immoral actions follow thereby damage one's ability to chose freely. A good third example is that bad music kills the soul.
4. For me, music that nourishes the mind is more important because I love deep thoughts, metaphors, and clever wordplay. But I also value music that helps the physical body because I use my iPod while bike riding and running. However, I often find that music that nourishes the mind can also be perfect for such a setting and thereby become music that nourishes the body.
