cobble you, thatch me
in gardens of artistry
wills and wants paw soft
at smudges of simile
teeth, an opal honesty

traffic blooms at dusk’s baton
and dreams fold back into trees
sleepy gold participant
umber strokes your gleam

chain back the curtain
herald the play of visions
possibility

Small bare feet, traffic
to a lonely cobblestone
road, kissed wet by rain ~
perfect for searching puddles
and catching her reflection.

Non-participant, chained to
fear ~ blue eyed simile of
innocence, shining beneath
unruly thatching

Umber smudge baby,
will she bare teeth? No, her lips
draw closed, the curtain

oh, this was difficult! but i gave it my best shot... :)

their teeth hide secrets
on their tongues, participants
to similes that
laugh behind closed curtains, like
traffic on cobblestone roads

they chain words and spill a muse
so umber in shades of earth
that they call on sky's smudges
to cloud-thatch their dreams

sigh them my love, and
you might hear their rain, full of
all those untold truths

End of the begining by =Omardxb on deviantART

I traffic in desertion.
In endless shading of umber-
Shadow plays with no
participants but me,
no stage, no curtain, no love.

Thirsty for words, my throat
thatched with promises I've broken,
dragging chains with half-hearted teeth
marks, my heart smudged, sullied.

I'm cobbling my excuses, the
only participant, the
waste, simile for my soul. "

I always have such a hard time with the syllable restrictions....my submission is sub-par, but on the plus, I got to reread the oeuvre that came before me! Lovely, ladies!
Jess

~ Jess, hon, you are wonderful for even trying this challenge

I didn't realize until I did it myself how hard this one was

but hey, we all challenged ourselves to the max with this one..lol

we can all be proud to get through it...

and syllable count or not, your poem rocks!!!
