Unlimited Theft

Just when the MTA is crying that they can't find the money they used to have and they're threatening the rider-ship with higher fares, they've found a NEW way to STEAL from us:

Example:
1. Buy a 25 dollar, 7-day unlimited card.
2. Use it for the first time on Sunday, March 1 (just and example).
3. The card should expire 7 days later (Saturday, March 7) at midnight.

BUT !!!!!

The MTA has found a way to adjust the date on the scanner when you swipe your card. They can CHANGE the date to the previous day (let's say, February 28th here) so that when you swipe you card, the activiation date is recorded ONE DAY EARLIER!

YOUR CARD NOW EXPIRES ONE DAY EARLIER BUT YOU DON'T KNOW THIS UNTIL THE DAY AFTER THE PROPER EXPIRATION DATE!

In our example:
1. When you swiped your card on Sunday, March 1, the reader/scanner encoded Saturday, February 28.
2. When you BELIEVE that your card will expire on Saturday, March 7, it has ALREADY EXPIRED ON FRIDAY, MARCH 6.
3. When you go to use your card on Saturday morning (before midnight), YOU HAVE NOTHING LEFT ON YOUR CARD!

For people who work and time their cards accordingly, this means we HAVE to buy a new card or a 7 dollar, One-Day card or simply PAY EXTRA FARES!

THEFT!
