There wasn't a lot of down time and the contestants were great. Mace definitely is an awesome tapper; however, IMHO she was not the best all around choice. I just don't feel like she has what it takes to be a Miss NC. My personal opinion is that Puleo or McLean would have been a better pick. I think they have more of what it takes to actually win Miss NC and do well in the Miss America Pageant next year. But... that's why we have judges. Their decision is final and although I don't agree with it; it is what it is. I do hope McLean and Puleo will find and enter an open pageant so they will have another chance to get to Raleigh though. In this pageant I think that final ballot would have made a difference in the outcome. I'm not sure that a country song is the way to go in a pageant since not everyone enjoys country. But again, Emmy did a great job with it. I am sure the judging must have been extremely close. I think if Emmy McLean had worn her hair down, instead of pulled back the entire night, she would have nailed the winning spot. Puleo was striking and also did a great job with her dance. I thought in the letter to EDs earlier, the state said the final ballot was suspended for the remaining prelims but that it would be used at state. Spivey's has had the Sampson OT for a while, although no Miss. So maybe someone else is now doing the Miss and picking up the OT from the Spivey's group. 2009 National Miss Earth & Teen Earth United States pageant

Have you or someone you know ever dreamt of representing the USA at one of the most prestigious international pageants? Have you or someone you know ever wanted to be a positive role model for the Teen generation? Have you or someone you know ever wanted to be a state titleholder? If so, here is your chance!

The United States Earth pageants are now seeking likable, personable and approachable young women who would like to hold the titles of Miss Earth United States and Teen Earth United States. We seek a natural beauty, who is willing to do her part to encourage others to adopt a more eco-friendly lifestyle while advocating and educating for the protection and preservation of our environment.

"Green" never looked so glamorous. And there is so much more!

Our pageant fee includes 4 nights Hotel accommodations, all meals during the pageant, your opening number outfit, competition swimsuit and shoes, educational, motivational and environmental seminars, specially planned appearances, transportation during the national pageant along with the opportunity to represent the USA at the 2009 Miss Earth pageant. Miss Teen Earth United States receives a college scholarship. And together, they will travel throughout the United States on behalf of the cause and Mother Earth.

In addition, all delegates receive a full page advertisement in the official pageant program book at no additional charge and gifts/prizes worth hundreds of dollars. You may use the advertisement as a vehicle to obtain sponsors. Our pageant fee is only $475.00, however, due to some recent savings, we are passing on an additional discount to those who pay in full before April 1st. And we have an optional talent competition too!.

Travel expenses to and from the national pageant is not included in your pageant fee.

Wilson on the 14th, GS on the 21st, Spivey's on the 28th, MHolly on the 4th. And finally during work weekend, Miss Raleigh will be held. Wonder who our last 5 titleholders will be.
