Subject: It does beg the question what should be important in Irish dance. Is stamina really a traditional element to be preserve, or is it just a result of the current mindset

How important are trick elements? How important are things like rhythm and timing? I watched a video of one world champions set and while she was a very good dancer with high clicks and all the fancy stuff, the rhythms of her modern left a lot to be desired.
So the question is what should be important in Irish dance and what has become important because views have shifted? Is it ok that views shift on what is important? Should retaining some traditional elements be important or is the nature of Irish dance more fluid...
