Subject: Ulsters set up is flawed and needs to be seriousy looked at

Two years in a row now at Ulsters I have seen my DD not get an accurate placing (yes she had 3 good rounds on both occasions).

Its very apparent when you've been to local feises week in week out and all the majors this year and you look at her placings there against her ulster competitiors and how 3 children who never place higher than her at any of these competition (2 from the same school) are suddenly in ahead of her to be a WQ.

I have read with interest all the conversations below and with my experiences from the past two years I can see exactly why people are outraged. It is not sour grapes! People work hard to fund their childrens' love of dancing and their children work hard to be the best that they can be.

I am tired of paying so much money when competitions are rigged.

"Get her a new hobby" some will say. Believe me I have agonised a lot over this. Dancing is her life. She absolutely loves it. Its her social life outside of school. Its great exercise. It keeps her out of trouble. These are all the reasons why I let her continue.

I have asked her again this week if she wants to quit and her answer was "I love dancing Mummy. I am going to work harder to be up amongst the best so I can't be knocked down" (although I've seen a flawless dancer get knocked out of her rightful position already this week - so that happens too).

Irish ADs judging regionals when TCs are friends at the bar or are going to be judging at upcoming Oireachtas or other regionals where those AD/TC might benefit is not fair on children or their hard working parents. The non rotating panel is not fair either when there are obvious favours going on.

I don't want to quit. I want change!
