Subject: Do we expect our kids to hide their emotions in any other sport?
In reply to: Or are we still in the dark days where we deny diminish and dismiss kids feelings? 's message, "Do teachers / parents have more understanding of kids crying e pressing emotion and disappointment at results?" on 5/11/24 13:39:10, Tue

No, we don’t. Kids/teenagers/adults collapse on the floor, exhausted when they lose a championship match and it means the world to them. It’s NORMAL! Dancers aren’t doing that but a few tears, a sad face, a straight face - whatever, it’s outrageous to judge a kid for that. I watch sport all the time and the extreme emotion, the highs, lows and everything in between is why the kids do it, it’s why I did it. And to any kids who cry cos it hurts and you’ve worked hard, you do you, start not caring about what other people think x
