Prefacing this with I have no idea what Gavin's intentions are. I just know who's involved.

Michelle Lawrence judged the Worlds in 2019. Soon after she merged with Doherty-Petri. A CLRG rule states that a school can't be prevented from dancing at the Worlds due to judge association more than once in a five year period, so although Michelle was not a DP teacher in 2019, no-one from DP can judge the Worlds for five years as it would cause her dancers to miss out again. Flawed rule as if she did have any qualifiers for 2019 who had to miss the Worlds, which I don't know, the likelihood of them still dancing now are slim.

Anyway the OP seems to saying that now the five years have expired, Michelle is no longer of any use to DP (unless you count the daughter potentially being a future World Champion), so he might bin her off. The OP is saying the risk of Michelle's mother being mandated and therefore all of DP being barred from a World due to association, is too high.

However, ANYONE from DP could now be mandated and if the rule is still the same, you can only defer it once. So if they were mandated in 2026, they would miss 2026 OR 2027.

His only option is to merge with a school that had a judge on this year's or last year's panel. That'll keep DP out of the judging seats for long enough for the record of most World wins to be broken (women's is 10, men's is 11).
