Subject: Yes, I was looking at it more from a first time TC starting out, it would be many years before they were able to become an AD if that's what they wanted. But yes...

Many do make a fortune from doing workshops, our school paid many many thousands (in cash) to overseas workshop teachers.

I think you can make a good income as a TC without becomming an AD or workshop teacher, not millions, but a living wage. I know our TC did, but it is also a bit hit and miss, you need to be a good teacher, not just know the steps, and students come and go so it's not a guaranteed income, it is also hard work, mostly after "normal" work hours, including weekends and time away from home/family if you have to travel to competitions. As ny teacher of any kind knows, it is hard working with children, it takes a special kind of person to do it well and get along with everyone. Getting a school to the point of having a good income is hard, but maintaining it for years to come is even harder.
