"I'm doing much better now."
He smiled back, her words were music to his ears.
"That's good." Flash nuzzled her neck as she scooted closer to him, a chill running up his spine as he felt her warm body touch his. It felt pleasant, and some sort of blissfulness came over him, and he tried to remember the last time he felt that way. Damn it was good to be back home.
There was still something he wanted to tell her, a very simple handful of words that wouldn't change much but was the courteous thing to do. It had been a dead weight he'd been carrying in him for some time, but he didn't think now was the time. He didn't want to spoil the atmosphere. So he simply pushed it further back into his mind and forgot about it. It could wait till morning. For a while he lay still, not saying anything, but sighed softly.
"I missed you. I missed you so much." He whispered, his eyes gazing absent-mindedly up at the ceiling of the den as he gently leaned his head against hers.
