She was impressed--he really did talk a lot. It took some of the pressure off her to keep up her end, especially because his words had gotten her thinking. Not just about ballet, though she was trying to remember exactly why she stopped dancing those years ago. What was she doing with her life? She was almost embarrassed to think about it. Ezra had such an interesting life, one she was insatiably curious about. It sounded like he was a spy or something. It made her own life and experiences seem inconsequential by comparison. What had she done in twenty years? She had been a half-decent dancer at thirteen, but that was the past. And since then she'd held a litany of odd jobs, none of which had been particularly enjoyable or inspiring or even profitable. Money had never been her highest priority, but after listening to Ezra talk about being a photographer and "operations" in Ethiopia, she wished she at least had some money, to prove to herself that how she had spent her time was worthwhile.

Her eyes widened and she reached out as he toppled off the bench, but too late, he was already down. She couldn't help but laugh at him. "I should have cut you off," she teases, taking advantage of his absence by stretching out on her side over the length of the bench. Her gaze drifted out over the empty street. "I haven't thought about why I quit ballet in years... Life happened, you know what I mean? Sometimes you have to do what's best for the people around you, even if that means giving up something you love." She sounds a little wistful, but firm. "Do you get how incredible all that is? All that stuff you just told me about Ethiopia and operations and photography and everything. I've never anyone like you." The alcohol was making her feel quite sentimental, but she did mean what she was saying.
