Fury should count herself lucky that Lucian was not wearing rings today or that her jaw was not broken. His lips were drawn into a severe frown, but then, even that expression complimented his features. How long did he intend on dragging this out? All too easily, Lucian could crush her little wings before chucking her in a cage to be forgotten. She would not exactly be the first or the last amusement to lose his attention.

‘Consider her a… belated… birthday present, dear brother.’

Lezedi was not nearly as skilled nor gentle as Lucian in these matters, preferring the sturdier flesh of immortal creatures than the fragile human form. Lucian wagered that it would not take terribly long for her to beg for Lucian’s touch. His expression radiated a mocking laughter that went unheard. Poor Fury...
