And that was in the early 80s It will never be outlawed, although there was many more smokers than what there is today. And back in the day we always had advertising that the children saw from large billboards to sport being sponsored as in the Embassy Snooker, the Embassy Darts of the B&H Gold Cup going to the winner of the snooker masters. Sadly that's all gone. People of all ages was exposed to smoke or smoking advertising. Now if you're asking me if they should be advertising smoking say on Cbeebies then that will never happen however in a strange kind of way, why not. Personally the statistics say less and less are taking the habit up or is it a case that children today are not admitting the truth in the answers. My children are not the only smokers at primary school. It's more of a case that its not spoken about or looked upon as friendly as what it was a few years ago. But the more that people smoke should in my view bring the prices down. But it doesn't. I'm lucky to have found a shop selling at duty free prices and no doubt there are many more shops all around the UK who do this. It's all supply and demand. We demand it, they supply it Also many countries have had a lax view on smoking. I once watched a documentary on Channel 4 a few years ago. I believe there is about a 4 minute clip of it on Dailymotion called "to die for cigarettes". And it shows how that until the late 90s in Denmark anyone in school could smoke. Imagine if that was permitted today across the globe. The children are the future for the habit, but the taxation is the only reason that makes it difficult for the new generation to take up smoking. Nothing else. And as for the health issues. I just say 1 thing. Is there a cure for death. There isn't. We're all going to go at some point regardless of if you just eating vegetables and drink pineapple juice and jog 100 miles a week. We will all go at some point. But we all have different life choices in how we wish to live. This is ours, we shouldn't have to be priced out in trying to live day to day [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
