Some of us are even cricket fans ;) But I jest, and I take your point. The thing about tobacco tax is the sheer hypocrisy. The governments NEED the tax from ciggies and petrol if they are not going to change the system completely. They should either embrace capitalism or come up with a better alternative. Relying on smokers to boost revenue while making it difficult for them to smoke is like breaking your bat in half before you walk out to the crease. Increasing tax on tobacco is just showboating. They should reduce it to a minimal level and give the lovely tobacco companies a free hand to advertise as unethically as they like, including directly to children.
