Yes, I have read many of Ivyleaf's articles - and they are superb. I don't know about satin appealing to men: I didn't see it that way at the time. The first time I came across it was when my wife bought a new girdle which, on the packaging, was described as "Firm control with satin elastic downstretch back panel". Her previous girdles were "medium control" so she had obviously decided to try something firmer. When she tried it on she remarked that it was much tighter but I don't think she recognised what the various panels and reinforcements were trying to do. When she turned round and I saw the shiny, satin back panel I realised that this was a major difference from the medium girdles. Later, my wife gradually replaced all the medium girdles with new firm ones, some with satin backs and some with just a double elastic back. She thought the satin back ones did a better job of flattening her bottom but were "a bit harder" than the non-satin ones. I think she meant "more controlling" rather than actually feeling harder.
